Der Tractatus de Transcendentibus des Franciscus Mayronis

Der in den zwanziger Jahren des 14. Jahrhunderts enstandene Tractatus de Transcendentibus des Franciscus de Mayronis ist der erste eigenstandige Transzendentalientraktat der Philosophiegeschichte. Der Sache nach knupft Mayronis an die Transzendentalienlehre seines Lehrers, Johannes Duns Scotus, an, dessen Theorie bereits eine tiefgreifende Zasur fur die Metaphysik des Mittelalters bedeutet. Gegenuber der klassischen Lehre, die vorwiegend an den Konvertiblen transzendentalen Begriffen orientiert ist, fallt die kritische Abgrenzung des Mayronis deutlich scharfer aus als bei Scotus selbst. Im Verhaltnis zu den Ausfuhrungen seines Lehrers kennt Mayronis eine umfangreichere Klasse transzendentaler Begriffe; so werden z.B. Begriffe zweiter Stufe als transzendentale Pradikate zugelassen. Das fuhrt dazu, dass der Gegenstandsbereich der als Transzendentalwissenschaft verstandenen Metaphysik signifikant ausgeweitet wird. Insgesamt kann der Tractatus de Transcendentibus als Beleg fur die Bedeutung der mittelalterlichen Transzendentalienlehre angesehen werden. Die bereits von Scotus vollzogene Akzentverschiebung gegenuber der klassischen Lehre wird im Tractatus weiter forciert. Die Wirkungsgeschichte des genuin scotischen Ansatzes einer transzendentalen Metaphysik wird massgeblich durch Franciscus de Mayronis mitbestimmt.
