Dem Wort der Wahrheit nachforschen
Pietistische Bibelvorreden. Ausgewahlt und herausgegeben von Sandra Sternke-Menne
edited by Sandra Sternke-Menne
This volume offers the prefaces of the well-known Pietist Bible editions of the 18th century. Free from dogmatic precepts, the aim was to get to the root of the Bible’s original language and thus overcome denominational boundaries. The philological, theological and hermeneutical considerations on which the translations are based can be found succinctly in the prefaces that precede them, in which the respective editors justify their new version.
Jahrhunderts.
