Dacia Porolissensis. Potaissa et Vicinia

Le present volume correspond a la premiere section des Inscriptions de la Dacie Porolissensis, la plus septentrionale des trois provinces daciques. Il reunit 504 textes emanent du grand centre de Potaissa (Patavissa) et de quelques localites des alentours. Connue pour ses mines de sel et son importance strategique, attestee pour la premiere fois par une borne milliaire en 108 apr. J.-C., Potaissa fut tout d’abord le siege de la garnison d’une troupe auxiliaire, puis, a partir de 168/170, de la legio V Macedonica, qui y demeura jusqu’a l’abandon de la province, en 271. Dans l’immediat voisinage du camp se developpa un habitat civil, qui acceda au rang de municipe sous Septime Severe et, probablement sous le meme empereur, au rang de colonie. Les inscriptions de Potaissa se distinguent par leur diversite et par les enseignements historiques dont elles sont porteuses.
