Dreiundvierzig Gegenstucke zu Psalmen. Als sitze jemand dem Psalmisten gegenuber und antwortete mit einem Gegenlied. Dieses Gegenlied stellt alttestamentliche Gottesbilder, Dualismus, den Aufruf zu Gewalt und gnadenloser Vernichtung der Feinde infrage. Aber ebenso respektiert und achtet es den Beter, greift dessen Glaube und Not auf, denkt diese weiter, spiegelt Gegenwartiges. Eva Tobler liest die Psalmen auf unkonventionelle Weise und aktualisiert sie fur die Gegenwart. Sechs Kapitel mit je sieben Psalmen und ihren Gegenstucken gliedern das Buch. In der Mitte steht der 22. Psalm, den Jesus am Kreuz zitiert: Mein Gott, mein Gott, warum hast du mich verlassen! Dieser Fokus macht unmissverstandlich, dass Betlehem und Golgota immer mitgedacht werden – und gibt den lyrischen Kurzestpredigten sowohl Ausgangspunkt als auch Ziel.
