The Ajdovska jama near Krsko in Slovenia is a small passage cave of varied scientific interest. Several archaeological excavations have uncovered late Pleistocene and early Holocene strata that contain Stone Age artifacts and fauna. This volume focuses on the Pleistocene faunal remains, especially the cave bears, which belong to a species previously only known to inhabit high altitudes. Also included is a synopsis of the analysis of the Neolithic remains, which have been published elsewhere.
