The book deals with the Minoan dance in eight sections. The different types of dances, ceremonies with possible dance accompaniment, processions, dance formations, processional gestures, and musical instruments are discussed separately. There follows a general overview of the subject based on the analysis undertaken, as well as an investigation into the memory of Minoan dance in Greek Antiquity. In the analysis of dances, comparisons are made with dancing scenes from the Greek mainland and the Aegean islands, as well as from Egypt and the East, to investigate possible influences or loans.
