English summary: In 26 lessons, this Guide to the Hebrew Language introduces the reader to the Hebrew language of the Old Testament. A textbook with a didactic concept, it is intended mainly for first year students who are preparing for their Hebrew exam. It can however also be used by those who are studying on their own or, by virtue of its comprehensive indices, as a reference work. The book uses many charts which refer to pronouns, verbs and nouns and gives text examples from the Old Testament only. In order to consolidate the theoretical knowledge imparted, there are exercises on determining grammatical form as well as on translations and vocalizations. A short introduction precedes those lengthier text passages which are to be translated. These text passages show the extent to which the Hebrew language is tied to the Old Testament. German description: Dieses Lehrbuch fuhrt mit 26 Lektionen in die hebraische Sprache des Alten Testaments ein. Es wendet sich vor allem an Studienanfanger und dient der Vorbereitung des Hebraicums. Es kann aber auch zum autodidaktischen Studium sowie aufgrund umfangreicher Register als Nachschlagewerk verwendet werden. “Die 6. Auflage wurde erneut durchgesehen und verbessert. Neben der Korrektur von Vokalisationsfehlern wurden vor allem die Tabellen zum Imperativ Singular femininum mit Suffixen entfernt. Dieser Imperativ ist mit Suffixen im Alten Testament nicht belegt und daher im Arbeitsbuch entbehrlich.
