Der Band behandelt die fruhe Rassenhygiene in Deutschland, die zwischen Niedergang oder Aufstieg stand und die sog. Entartung der gesamten modernen Kulturmenschheit aufhalten bzw. deren Hoherzuchtung vorantreiben sollte.
“Decline” or “rise” – between these two poles of the early “Rassenhygiene” or “Eugenik” different positions and recommendations were proposed for the prevention of the so-called “Entartung” of the modern “Kulturmenschheit” or the promotion of the so-called “Hoherzuchtung”. The suggested agendas covered limited assistance for so-called “weak”, special facilitation or ban of marriage and forced sterilization to the point of state-controlled reproduction of human beings. As a consequence, by the end of the 19th and at the beginning of the 20th century an extensive variety of “rassenhygienischer” literature emerged in Germany forming the basis for the present discourse analysis.
