Was braucht die Gemeinde?
Zum Wechselspiel zwischen kirchlichen Transformationsprozessen und Ekklesiologie
edited by Christoph Meyns and Georg Raatz
English summary: Demographic shifts and declining financial power are central to the processes of change that have been underway at all levels of the church for roughly the past twenty years. How can the tasks of the church be fulfilled in the face of these challenges? Which theoretical concepts of church and community prove to be appropriate and to promote faith for the Protestant church in the 21st century? The implicitly guiding images of church, community and devotional practice give rise to the following questions: How can decisions in church transformation processes be supported by ecclesiological concepts? How does ecclesiology, i.e. theory of church and community generate its expertise over the church community? How can a constructive and critical interplay be arranged between theological theory building and the development of church organization?
