Una straordinaria villa a un passo dal Colosseo e dai Fori, eppure ancora tanto ignota. Eurialo Silvestri, che nel Cinquecento la fa costruire e decorare nella vana attesa di diventare cardinale sotto Paolo III Farnese, le diverse propriet fino alla met del Seicento, quando diventa un convento e una fabbrica tessile. E poi l’Unit d’Italia, la trasformazione in una scuola, il convento che diventa “”occupato””. Dal 2000 a oggi le scoperte archeologiche, il descialbo degli affreschi cinquecenteschi, la messa in sicurezza, i restauri e i cantieri-scuola che hanno reso Villa Silvestri Rivaldi un luogo di studio e di ricerca. In queste pagine si racconta tutto questo con la voce degli studiosi che per anni hanno varcato l’ingresso di via del Colosseo, nell’attesa, speriamo non vana, che la villa torni a splendere e a essere un bene culturale fruibile dai cittadini di Roma e dai suoi turisti.
