Kontingenz irritiert die Vernunft. Versucht die Vernunft die Kontingenz zu reduzieren, gerat sie an ihre Grenzen. An exemplarischen Positionen der Neuzeit gehen die Autoren dieser offenen Problemgeschichte nach, indem sie in kritischer Auseinandersetzung mit der Vor- und Nachgeschichte von Leibniz religionsphilosophische und theologische Perspektiven zur zeitgenossischen Neukonstellation erarbeiten.
