Ulrike Peisker entwickelt entlang des Phanomens zwischenmenschlicher Vergebung deren systematische Rekonstruktion und nutzt die reformatorische Hermeneutik, zwischenmenschliche Vergebung von protestantisch-theologischer Warte her prazise zur Sprache zu bringen. Durch eine deutliche Abgrenzung von menschlicher und gottlicher Vergebung wird eine Scharfung beider Vergebungsbegriffe erzielt. Die Autorin beschreibt zwischenmenschliche Vergebung so als ein Phanomen, das zwar grundsatzlich moglich, aber nicht in der Eigenmacht und -initiative der Vergebenden liegt, sondern gewissermassen “fremdverschuldet” ist. Sie weist zwischenmenschliche Vergebung insofern als ein Phanomen aus, das nicht adaquat als Tugend, als Kompetenz oder als eigens in Angriff zu nehmender und absichtsvoll voranzutreibender Prozess zu beschreiben ist, sondern als etwas, das erst abseits der Intention zu vergeben uberhaupt zur Erscheinung kommt.
