Theologia positiva acroamatica (Rostock 1664)
by Johann Friedrich Konig, edited by Andreas Stegmann
English summary: Johann Friedrich Konig’s Theologia positiva acroamatica , published in 1664, was one of the most widely used textbooks for the study of dogmatics in the 17th and 18th centuries. It provides a clear and concise description of classic post-Reformation dogmatics. The historical-critical edition and the translation into German make this important source of church history and systematic theology available once again. The introduction to the edition and numerous additions to the appendix provide important tips for dealing with the text, enabling it to be used for teaching and research. In addition, a detailed introduction to Johann Friedrich Konig’s life and works and the forms and contents of the teaching of dogmatics in the early modern era is being published in the Beitrage zur Historischen Theologie series.
