Investigations from different perspectives

The volume contains twenty-four chapters concentrating on Slavic (Croatian, Polish, Russian, Slovak) and other European languages (English, German and Italian). The authors analyse – sometimes from a comparative angle – selected issues, taking into consideration a number of perspectives: phraseological, semantic, pragmatic, lexicographical, orthographical and textual. The contributors investigate metaphorical expressions, idioms, proverbs and speech acts. Furthermore, they focus on terminology used in law and mathematics, as well as on different text genres, ranging from private letters via legal texts to memes.
