Dimitri Theodoridis, who has had a fascination with Byzantine lead bullae since he was young, has amassed an impressive collection of over 1,300 seals. He carefully selected these seals based on their quality of preservation and historical significance. For this particular book, he decided to focus on around 220 bullae that had a second, transmissible name on the seal legend. The majority of the seals in his collection have not been published before, and many of them have no other known examples. This collection sheds light on Byzantine administration during the reign of the last Macedonians and up to the era of Alexis Comnenus.
