English summary: The evolution of the Latin Church after the Councils of Nicea, Constantinople, and Chalcedon, led to the modification of the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed with the Filioque, a symbol which was considered sacred and invariable by the Eastern Churches. The sacrament of communion thus became an object of discord and polemics. This book analyzes the ensuing controversies that gave rise to various professions of faith from the end of the Byzantine period until the eighteenth century.
