by Claudia Franke-Ziedan
The literary study is devoted to the investigation of the dramas by Egyptian writer Ali Salem (born 1936). A present in all writing and written in the Egyptian dialect style of a contemporary playwright ensues the literary-historical positioning of the author and the redrawing of the lines of modern Arab theater. In addition, an exemplary analysis of the satirical style of dramatic texts by Ali Salem is performed, whereby the socio-critical potential of the stage works by the politically and socially active author is worked out. German text.
