Reichsstift und Reformation
Furstabtissin Anna II. von Quedlinburg zwischen Landesherrschaft, Reich und religioser Erneuerung (1517-1580)

Die Einfuhrung der Reformation im Quedlinburger Reichsstift wird in dieser Arbeit in einem umfassenden Sinne auf der Makro-, Meso- und Mikroebene untersucht. Dabei wird das komplexe Zusammenspiel der Furstabtissin mit dem Kaiser, dem Reich und seinen Institutionen, anderen Reichsstanden, dem Schutzvogt, dem Quedlinburger Rat, den Geistlichen und den Untertanen betrachtet. Die Reformation “von unten” durch die Untertanen wird mit den Reformationen “von oben” durch die Furstabtissin und ihren Schutzvogt in einer neuen, multiperspektivischen Weise kombiniert. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt auf der “Reformationsabtissin” Anna II., einer Grafin zu Stolberg-Wernigerode. Die Arbeit beleuchtet, wie sie die mit der Reformation verbundenen Chancen und Risiken handhabte, und untersucht vielfaltige Aspekte ihrer Herrschaft wie ihre Hofhaltung, die Titulatur, Netzwerke im Stiftskapitel und ihr Engagement auf den Reichstagen.
