English summary: In this collection of essays, six of which are original contributions, Reinhard Gregor Kratz provides an overview of prophecy and prophets in the Ancient Near East, the Old Testament and in the Dead Sea scrolls (Qumran) as well as articles especially on the books of Isaiah, Hosea and Amos. After an introduction to the problems of exegesis of the prophets, he deals mainly with three fundamental issues using several case studies/examples: the relationship between Ancient Near East and Old Testament prophecy, the distinction between the historical and the literary prophets in the books of the Old Testament as well as the reception of the Old Testament books of the prophets in the Dead Sea scrolls. In this way, Reinhard G. Kratz gives an overall picture of biblical prophetic literature as well as insight into three well-known representatives of this exceptional genre of literature. German description: In dem vorliegenden Band versammelt Reinhard Gregor Kratz zahlreiche Aufsatze, darunter sechs Originalbeitrage. Der Band gliedert sich in drei Teile: Der erste Teil bietet einen Uberblick uber Prophetie und Propheten im Alten Orient, im Alten Testament und in den Texten vom Toten Meer (Qumran); die beiden folgenden Teile sind den Buchern Jesaja, Hosea und Amos gewidmet. Nach einer Einleitung in die Probleme der Prophetenexegese werden in den Beitragen des ersten Teils vor allem drei grundlegende Fragen behandelt und anhand von Fallbeispielen erortert: das Verhaltnis von altorientalischer und alttestamentlicher Prophetie, die Unterscheidung zwischen dem historischen und dem literarischen Propheten in den Buchern des Alten Testaments sowie die Rezeption der alttestamentlichen Prophetenbucher in Qumran. Die Eigenart der biblischen Prophetenbucher und ihre fruhe Rezeption stehen auch in den beiden folgenden Teilen mit Beitragen zu Jesaja sowie Hosea und Amos im Zentrum. Die Teile beginnen jeweils mit einem Uberblick uber die drei agrossen und die zwolf akleinen Propheten, wenden sich sodann exegetischen Einzelproblemen der fraglichen Schriften zu und schliessen jeweils mit einem Ausblick auf Bezeugung und Auslegung der drei Propheten Jesaja, Hosea und Amos in den Texten vom Toten Meer. Auf diese Weise vermittelt Reinhard Gregor Kratz sowohl ein Gesamtbild der biblischen Prophetenliteratur als auch Einblicke in drei namhafte Vertreter dieser aussergewohnlichen Gattung.
