Die reiche Kultur der Hethiter lasst Einflusse aus verschiedenen kulturellen Milieus erkennen. Kontakte mit Traditionen hurritischer Herkunft aus Nordsyrien und Sudostanatolien pragten insbesondere die religiose und kultische Sphare der Hethiter. Dieser hurritische religiose Einfluss lasst sich vor allem in Ritual- und Kulttexten aus den hethitischen Archiven konstatieren, sowohl in sprachlicher Hinsicht als auch auf der Ebene der Kultpraxis. Mit dieser Arbeit werden die von hurritischen Traditionen gepragten Festritualtexte aus philologischer und sprachlicher Sicht naher betrachtet. Ein besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf Strategien der Verwendung der hurritischen Sprache in diesen Texten gelegt. Durch eingehende sprachliche Analysen, kritische Bearbeitungen ausgewahlter Texte und philologische Diskussionen vermittelt die vorliegende Studie neue und weiterfuhrende Erkenntnisse des hethitischen Kultwesens und der Mechanismen des hethitisch-hurritischen Sprach- und Kulturkontaktes.
