German description: Gerade die Anfangsphase der hethitischen Uberlieferung in Hattusa bietet ein breites Spektrum an historischen Erzahlungen, an Texten, die historische Ereignisse darstellen, oder langere Passagen enthalten, die Bezug auf die Vergangenheit nehmen. Diese Sammlung historischer Erzahlungen, die einen grossen Reichtum an Stoffen und Formen aufweist, ist nicht nur im Kontext der hethitischen Literatur, sondern im Alten Orient insgesamt singular. Der vorliegende Band stellt die erste umfassende Untersuchung dieser Textgruppe dar. Die auf philologische sowie literatur- und geschichtstheoretische Ansatze angelegte Analyse, hat das Ziel, die Vielfalt der althethitischen historischen Literatur, ihre Formen, Inhalte und Intentionen differenziert darzustellen, neue Interpretationsansatze anzuregen und die literarische Kommunikation der Althethitischen Zeit hinsichtlich ihres historischen, kulturellen und politischen Hintergrundes zu kontextualisieren.
