Neue kaiserzeitliche Inschriften aus Kibyra

English summary: The new inscriptions published in this volume are an impressive cross-section of the prosperous urban society of Roman Imperial Cibyra. Outstanding honorary families, some of whose members were able to rise to the imperial aristocracy, stand before our eyes in desirable differentiation of their kinship relations: the Claudii Paulini, the Claudii Polemones or the hitherto unknown Flavii Captiones, who were among the builders of the impressive stadium of Cibyra. The findings of the excavations in the so-called eastern necropolis of Cibyra have contributed significantly to this. But we also encounter Roman businessmen who married local citizens’ daughters, doctors, mathematicians, ‘policemen’ and their widows, public slaves who cared little about their legally unfree status, illegitimate children adopted as foster children, or female friendships. The cabinet pieces in this volume include a complex of mosaic inscriptions in front of the Odeion of Cibyra and the funerary inscription of Indonius, the grandson and presumed adopted son of a certain Claudius Neiketes. The young man wrote his epitaph himself, playing in a charming way with the local Greek and Latin names that were used in his family and with references to the landscape that characterised the area around the village of Cibyra. German description: In Fortsetzung zu “Erganzungsband 29 zu den Tituli Asiae Minoris”, in dem neue hellenistische Inschriften aus der Stadt Kibyra in Sudwestkleinasien bekannt gemacht wurden, werden in diesem Band neue Inschriften aus der romischen Kaiserzeit vorgelegt, die der Verfasser in den Jahren 2011 bis 2017 dokumentiert hat. Sie sind ein beeindruckender Querschnitt einer prosperierenden Stadtgesellschaft. Herausragende Honoratiorenfamilien, von denen einige Mitglieder den Aufstieg in die Reichsaristokratie zu vollziehen vermochten, stehen in wunschenswerter Differenzierung ihrer Verwandtschaftsbeziehungen vor unseren Augen: die Claudii Paulini, die Claudii Polemones oder die bislang unbekannten Flavii Captiones, die mit zu den Bauherren des beeindruckenden Stadions von Kibyra gehorten. Dazu haben die Befunde der Grabungen in der sogenannten Ostnekropole wesentlich beigetragen. Doch wir begegnen auch romischen Geschaftsleuten, die einheimische Burgerstochter heirateten, Arzten, Mathematikern, ‘Polizisten’ und ihren Witwen, offentlichen Sklaven, die sich wenig um ihren unfreien Status scherten, unehelichen Kindern, die als Ziehkinder angenommen wurden, oder Frauenfreundschaften. Zu den Kabinettstucken des vorliegenden Bandes gehort ein Komplex von Mosaikinschriften vor dem Odeion von Kibyra sowie die Grabinschrift des Indonios, des Enkels und mutmasslichen Adoptivsohns eines gewissen Claudius Neiketes. Der junge Mann hat seine Grabinschrift selbst verfasst und spielt darin in charmanter Weise mit den einheimischen, griechischen und lateinischen Namen, die in seiner Familie getragen wurden, und mit Bezugen zur Landschaft, die das Umland von Kibyra gepragt hat.
