Nekrotapheío hysteron geometrikon chrónon ste thése Loutró Demou Pallenes Attikes
By (author) Anastasía N. Rámmou
Between the years 2002-2004, in the framework of the wider excavation works that were implemented in Eastern Attica, for the needs of the Olympic Games, a cemetery of the Late Geometric Period, at the site Loutro, in the Municipality of Pallini, in Attica, was revealed.
Its findings provide the material for the present study. The pottery and the burial customs of this “provincial” corner of Attica are presented here, and since they can be dated with accuracy, they give a clear picture of the culture’s character and the commercial and cultural relations between Attica and the wider Aegean region and the Middle East.
