Le fascicule 38 de France et 25 du Louvre est consacre aux ceramiques lucaniennes et apuliennes anciennes. A la difference des vases attiques, provenant, dans leur tres grande majorite, de fouilles effectuees en Etrurie par le marquis Gampana, et de la collection achetee par Napoleon III en 1861, les vases italiotes du Louvre ont ete acquis, pour la plupart, dans la premiere moitie du XIXe siecle et sont issus pour l’essentiel des collections Tochon et Durand, formees dans le royaume de Naples.
