Der vorliegende Band gibt einen kompakten, interdisziplinar angelegten Uberblick uber die Konzeptgeschichte und die gesellschaftliche Relevanz von Musse. Musse entlastet auf Zeit von Produktivitatsanspruchen der Gesellschaft und ermoglicht damit Freiheit und vielfaltige Kreativitat. Gerade deshalb ist sie umstritten: Die Moglichkeit, gesellschaftliche Anspruche fur eine Weile zu vergessen, wird stets nur gewissen Gruppen zugestanden. An Diskussionen uber Musse zeigen sich gesellschaftliche Vorstellungen von Produktivitat deshalb ebenso deutlich wie Zuschreibungen an das gute Leben einzelner Gruppen. Das gilt gerade auch heute, da Musse in der Kritik an kapitalistischer Arbeits- und Gesellschaftsorganisation neue Prominenz gewinnt und als Gegenbild zu deren Beschleunigung erscheint. Der Freiburger Sonderforschungsbereich 1015 hat mehr als zehn Jahre lang in interdisziplinarer Perspektive Mussevorstellungen und Mussepraktiken untersucht. Das Kompendium “Musse und Musseforschung” macht seine wichtigsten Ergebnisse zuganglich und bietet damit gleichzeitig einen einfuhrenden Uberblick uber die Musseforschung.
