Melanges offerts a Madiha Doss
La linguistique comme engagement
By (author) Aziza Boucherit By (author) Heba Machhour By (author) Malak Rouchdy
These Melanges Offered to Madiha Doss are first and foremost the affectionate tribute of friends and colleagues, personally and intellectually linked to her. They wished to express their gratitude for the part she has taken in Egypt’s current history, in the civil society and more specifically in the Egyptian academic world; and, above all, for her contribution to the development on studies of the Arabic language of Egypt, in all its registers and real uses, oral and written, past and present. The addressed themes and topics reflect the areas she has been influential in; beyond their diversity, the gathered contributions, each in its own way, highlight one aspect of these fields. Besides tokens of friendship as well as articles of political sociology that are a testimony to her career, this volume mainly contains studies of specialists by Arabic linguistics covering domains where Madiha Doss’s research activity has been seminal and pioneering: representations and linguistic norms, Arabic colloquial writing, orality in the written form, Middle Arabic.
