Marburger Jahrbuch Theologie XXVI
Gemeinwohl
edited by Reiner Preul
English summary: It is a part of our political culture to call for more “community spirit” and therefore for an orientation towards the “common good” instead towards “self interest”. Eilert Herms describes the concept of common good as “the objective of human coexistence and central concept of social ethics”; Notger Slenczka approaches the issue from the perspective of the history of philosophy and theology. Peter Dabrock’s contribution addresses the issue of a discursive mutual understanding on concepts of the common good; Hans Tjabert Conring clarifies the relevant legal regulations.
