L’OEil medieval
by Herbert L. Kessler and translated by Alexandre Hasnaoui, founded by Liliane Brion-Guerry
English summary: The present study examines how art was produced, financed, and used during the Middle Ages. Herbert Kessler sheds light on how visual objects, not just painting or sculpture, functioned in peoples lives and society in general. Richly illustrated, this book allows for a greater understanding of the role of medieval art.
