Les recherches portent sur la description synchronique du turc contemporain et sur les problemes generaux de l’analyse semantique, tant paradigmatique que syntagmatique – analyse semique, theorie de la lexis, examen des interdependances entre lexique et syntaxe, enonce et enonciation. La premiere partie definit les classes grammaticales et les regles syntaxiques elementaires de la langue, puis propose une methode d’analyse lexicale fondee sur la structuration autour de ” mots-axiomes “, et sur le traitement methodique de la polysemie par des regles combinatoires autour d’une figure de signification abstraite. La seconde partie est consacree au systeme des cas : description minutieuse des rapports formels et semantiques, reexamen des theses de Hjelmslev et de Pottier, et exploration differentielle des proprietes syntactico-semantiques sur les constituants de syntagme (directif et ablatif) et sur les constituants de phrase (locatif). La troisieme partie combat l’interpretation traditionnelle des demonstratifs turcs sur le modele latin et formule un ensemble de theses nouvelles sur la deixis et le statut de l’enonciateur. Enfin l’etude des verbes, des adjectifs de dimension et surtout des noms dits “topologiques” dans une langue qui ignore les prepositions et les prefixes, permet de construire des reseaux semantiques qui ne se limitent pas a un hierarchisation binaire des categories pertinentes. Cette these est la premiere etape d’une recherche sur la structuration de l’espace dans les langues naturelles.
