English summary: With his “Grammatik und Chrestomathie des Sabaischen (SILO 4,1 und 4,2)” (Sabaean grammar and chrestomathy), Peter Stein has published a study of this ancient South Arabian language that does not only present the latest grammatical research, but is also intended to support practical language acquisition with the help of carefully selected Sabaean writings. The grammar makes accessible the essential aspects of the language as far as they are recorded in still available sources. The entire corpus of published Sabaean texts including informal inscriptions on wooden cylinders forms the basis for this study.
