Le Fars sous la domination mongole

La domination mongole sur les pays iraniens a souvent ete presentee comme un des episodes les plus noirs de leur histoire. En fait cette domination ne s’est pas exercee de maniere identique sur l’ensemble du territoire. Pour des raisons d’ordre ecologique, les tribus mongoles se sont etablies au Khorassan et en Azerbaidjan ou les Ilkhans ont installe leur cour, l’Ordo. Dans le sud, le Fars fut du point de vue ethnique et culturel mieux preserve, si bien qu’il a pu conserver sa capitale, Chiraz, ainsi que sa cohesion islamique. Par ailleurs, meme si l’incorporation des differentes regions iraniennes a l’ulus de Hulegu les soumettait a un regime administratif et fiscal commun, il subsistait des particularismes dans son application. Cette recherche examine les modalites de la domination ilkhanide sur le Fars depuis le debut de l’apparition des troupes mongoles, en Iran oriental, jusqu’a la fin des deux decennies qui ont suivi le demembrement de l’Empire apres la mort d’Abu Sa’id, en 1335. Qui veut comprendre ce qui se passe dans les regions, doit necessairement porter une attention particuliere a la cour des Ilkhans parce que c’est la, sous la tente, que tout se decide. Il faut demeler l’echeveau des rapports compliques entre les differents acteurs, tant au niveau local qu’a celui de l’Ordo. C’est donc a une etude des relations humaines que nous invite l’histoire du Fars pendant cette periode.
