La ceramique thasienne a figures noires

Cette etude prolonge le volume VII des Etudes Thasiennes, consacre a la ceramique grecque trouvee sur le site dans des fouilles anterieures a 1957. Elle se concentre sur un type de productions: les ceramiques a figures noires dont le caractere local, autrefois pressenti, est desormais demontre. Nourri par les riches trouvailles des sanctuaires – l’Athenaion et surtout l’Artemision, fouilles depuis la fin des annees Cinquante – et, dans une moindre mesure, par celles de l’habitat, le lot selectionne pour la publication comprend 413 individus. En depit de leur etat fragmentaire, ces vases renseignent sur le fonctionnement dun atelier dont on suit lactivite au VIe siecle sur trois generations de peintres-potiers. Ils eclairent aussi le processus de formation dun style: a Thasos, une colonie installee aux marges du monde barbare, laffirmation identitaire passe par la reference ostentatoire aux modeles grecs.
