English summary: For ecumenism the encounter with Christians of other denominations is crucial. The present confessional study addresses this task from the perspective of particular churches. The majority of the authors of this handbook have grown up in their respective traditions. Not only the “classical” confessional families (Catholics, Orthodox, Anglicans, Lutherans, Reformed) are presented here but also Christian communities (mainly of a free church and charismatic nature) with a much more recent past.
