(Catholic Religious Studies in Europe: diverse contexts, a common goal?), was the title of an international meeting held from February 22nd-23rd, 2013 in Aachen. The collected essays in the volume document the view of the meeting of the out-of-the-box theoretical models of religious instructions and shows the current of theory and practice of contemporary religious instruction in some European countries. By comparing contexts from different countries, the daily effect and research field are made more purposeful and reflective. As a result, the focus of the attention of the participating authors stands the relationship of theoretical models of religious instruction and instructional practice. In the background, they indicate in glimpses the contours of the map of Europe from the view of religious instruction and its methods. Anhand eines Vergleichs unterschiedlicher Landerkontexte soll das eigene alltaglich gewordene Wirkungs- und Forschungsfeld bewusster gemacht und reflektiert werden. Im Fokus der Aufmerksamkeit der beteiligten Autoren steht demzufolge das Verhaltnis von religionspadagogischer Theoriebildung und unterrichtlicher Praxis. Vor diesem Hintergrund konturieren sie ausschnittsweise die Landkarte Europas aus dem Blick des Religionsunterrichts und seiner Didaktik.
