Konfirmandinnen und Konfirmanden in der Schweiz zeigen Zuruckhaltung, wenn sie gefragt werden, ob sie an Gott glauben. Aber heisst das auch, dass sie nicht glauben? Muriel Koch geht der Frage nach, wie Jugendliche sich selbst in Bezug auf ihre Lebenswelt deuten, welche Ressource der Glaube dabei darstellt und wie das sprachlich zum Ausdruck kommt. Sie wertet bisher unbearbeitete Aussagen von Konfirmandinnen, Konfirmanden und Konfirmierten aus der gross angelegten europaischen Konfirmationsstudie von 2012/2013 aus und versucht das, was Jugendliche kommunizieren, angemessen zu interpretieren. In ihrer religionspadagogischen Analyse zeigt sie, dass religiose Sprachfahigkeit keine Bedingung fur religiose Selbstwahrnehmung ist, und gibt so spannende Einblicke in die Sprache des Glaubens von Jugendlichen.
