Zur Geschichte des Bistums gehoren die Seligen und Heiligen – Frauen und Manner, bekannte und weniger bekannte Zeugen der Gegenwart Gottes in der Welt. Der Gedenktag ist der jahrlich wiederkehrende Tag, an dem in den gottesdienstlichen Feiern speziell des Seligen oder des Heiligen gedacht wird und die entsprechenden liturgischen Texte Verwendung finden. Fur die Heiligen und Seligen des Bistums Munster liegt nun eine liturgische Gestaltungshilfe vor, die neben dem Tagesgebet auch ein Schlussgebet, Kyrie- und Furbittvorschlage enthalt. Erganzt mit dem Messlektionar lassen sich mit dieser liturgischen Gestaltungshilfe die Seligen und Heiligen der Diozese in der Eucharistiefeier oder in einer anderen gottesdienstlichen Feier feiern. Daruber hinaus sind die Votivmessen “Maria, Trosterin der Betrubten” und “Unsere Liebe Frau (Mutter) von der Immerwahrenden Hilfe” mit aufgenommen worden.
