English summary: Mediating the complex relationship between God’s action and human freedom is a fundamental and enduring task of all theological reflection. The challenges associated with this topic include the reconstruction of biblical experiences of freedom, the historical and systematic development of the Christian discourse on freedom as well as the proving of the tense relationship between human freedom and God’s action in pastoral practice and contemporary challenges. The lectures of the 24th annual conference of the Rudolf Bultmann Society for Hermeneutic Theology e.V. document the results of interdisciplinary reflection on these challenges. In addition, this volume contains an appendix with essays on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the publication of Rudolf Bultmann’s History of the Synoptic Tradition (1921).
