This collection of documents from various European archives provides a broad picture of the policy of the European Great Powsers between the Crimean War 1853/56 and the Eastern Crisis of 1875/78. These 20 years have hitherto been neglected in international historical research. The documents presented can now fill the gap to a large extent.
Winfried Baumgart ist Professor emeritus an der Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Sein Forschungsschwerpunkt ist die Geschichte der Internationalen Beziehungen im 19. und 20. Jahrhundert. Er ist u.a. Herausgeber der “Quellenkunde zur deutschen Geschichte der Neuzeit von 1500 bis zur Gegenwart” (Schöningh).
