German description: Das Verhaltnis von Erkenntnis und Glaube ist nicht nur spannend, sondern auch von Spannungen gepragt. Spatestens seit der Aufklarung ist die wissenschaftliche Erkenntnis neben die oder an die Stelle der glaubensbestimmten Welt- und Lebensdeutungen getreten. In einer sakularen Perspektive wird der christliche Glaube nicht (mehr) als Grundlage fur wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisprozesse angesehen, sondern als irrelevant oder gar als Widerspruch. Das pragte auch die Grundung der Evangelischen Forschungsakademie 1948. Deshalb war der Einsatz gegen eine wechselseitige Gleichgultigkeit oder gar Unvereinbarkeit von Glaube und Erkenntnis das Kernthema ihrer interdisziplinaren Arbeit. Im Rahmen einer Jubilaumstagung im Januar 2023 wurde eine aktuelle Bestimmung des Themas als Leitmotiv fur Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft versucht. Mit Beitragen von Christian Ammer, Volker Gerhardt, Heino Falcke, Martin Laube, Volker Jung und Sarah Rosenhauer. English summary: The relationship between knowledge and faith is not only exciting, but also characterized by tensions. Since the Enlightenment at the latest, scientific knowledge has taken its place alongside or in place of faith-based interpretations of the world and life. From a secular perspective, Christian faith is no longer seen as the basis of scientific knowledge processes, but as irrelevant or even contradictory. This also marked the founding of the Evangelische Forschungsakademie (Protestant Research Academy) in 1948, which is why its interdisciplinary work focused on combating the mutual indifference or even incompatibility of faith and knowledge. As part of an anniversary conference in January 2023, an attempt was made to define the topic as a current leitmotif for science and society.
