Demokritos Kaltsas ediert in diesem Bande 10 bislang unveroffentlichte griechische dokumentarische Papyri, die alle dem mittelagyptischen Gau Herakleopolites und der 1. Halfte des 2. Jh. v. Chr. entstammen. Die ersten sechs von ihnen durfen besondere Aufmerksamkeit beanspruchen, weil sie neues Licht auf das ptolemaische Prozesswesen werfen, insbesondere auf das Verfahren bei der Zeugenvernehmung. Unter den restlichen vier Texten befindet sich amtliche Korrespondenz, ferner der Entwurf einer Anzeige uber Einbruchsdiebstahl und die Buchfuhrung eines Pfandleihers, die zahlreiche sprachgeschichtlich bemerkenswerte Termini fur Gegenstande des taglichen Lebens enthalt. Ausser fur Papyrologen sind die Texte insgesamt fur Althistoriker, Rechts-historiker und Klassische Philologen von Interesse.
