Volume 33 of the Journal of the European Society of Women in Theological Research explores the intersections between feminist and disability theologies, seeking to contribute to the growing theological discourse informed by the lived experiences of people with disabilities. Just as feminist theologies have long challenged foundational concepts such as sin, nature, embodiment, and spirituality, disability theologies reframe these same notions to envision a more inclusive and liberating theological practice.

This volume asks how acknowledging disability as a vital aspect of human diversity transforms theological understanding and communal life. What does it mean to speak of the imago Dei when disability is integral to human identity? How might theology move beyond readings that conflate disability with illness, and instead work toward structural transformation and disability justice?

Bringing together diverse studies and perspectives, this issue continues the Journal’s tradition of fostering dialogue between women’s theologies and other critical fields. At this crossroads of inquiry, feminist and disability theologies converge to broaden theological horizons and to advance the pursuit of a more just and inclusive society.
