English summary: Condillac’s Dictionary of Synonyms is a work designed to teach the French language to the infant Ferdinand, Duke of Parma and grandson of Louis XV, rather than a dictionary in the strict sense of the word. The work permits the reader to jump from one topic to another, from proper to figurative meaning, connecting etymologies, proverbs, and examples. French text.
