The contributions in this volume redraw the contours of a medial Christology. They question the ‘thinking of Christ’, the conception of Jesus Christ as the crucified embodiment of God, as an image and thought figure in presence and absence, as a medium of reconciliation and redemption.
Christologie als Rede vom Zweiten war und ist pointierter Ausdruck von Theologie. Nur bleibt die Frage: “Wer und was ist der Zweite?” Die Beitrage dieses Bandes suchen diese Frage zu beantworten, indem sie Konturen einer medialen Christologie neu entwerfen. Sie befragen kritisch das ‘Denken Christi’, die Auffassung von Jesus Christus als Verkorperung des gekreuzigten Gottes, als Bild- und Denkfigur in Prasenz und Absenz, als Medium von Versohnung und Erlosung. Gegen eine vermeintliche Unmittelbarkeit von Jesus Christus in Verkundigung und Theologie, der ‘immer schon’ gezeigt, geglaubt und verstanden zu sein scheint, durchdenken sie dessen mediale, semantische und visuelle Vermittlungen.
