Andreas Osianders Lehre von der Einwohnung Christi im Geist als Form der Rechtfertigung der Sunder stiess auf heftige Ablehnung seitens zahlreicher fuhrender lutherischer Theologen seiner Zeit, die darin eine Abwertung des Kreuzestodes Jesu Christi sahen. Der vorliegende Band der Editionsreihe “Controversia et Confessio” dokumentiert anhand ausgewahlter Quellen den sog. Osiandrischen Streit ab 1551. Da Osianders Texte bereits in kritischer Edition vorliegen, konzentriert sich die vorliegende Ausgabe uberwiegend auf Schriften der Gegner, er enthalt u.a. Texte von Philipp Melanchthon, Matthias Flacius, Joachim Morlin; aber auch Verteidiger Osianders kommen zu Wort, so Johannes Funck und Matthaus Vogel.
