Der Hebraerbrief ist unter den neutestamentlichen Schriften so etwas wie ein Einzelganger, einzigartig und kostbar, aber auch fremdartig. Die Motive, Gedanken und Sinnbilder sind aus Kirchengesangbuch und Dogmatik ebenso bekannt wie schwer verstandlich: Christus als Hoherpriester nach der Ordnung Melchisedeks, das hohepriesterliche Amt a Schunacks detaillierte, klare und sorgfaltige Auslegung dieses Briefes ist von der Uberzeugung getragen, dass der Hebraerbrief mit seiner christologisch begrundeten und auf Zuspruch und Trost ausgerichteten Theologie der Bedeutung der paulinischen wie auch der johanneischen Theologie nicht nachsteht. Gerd Schunack, Jahrgang 1935, Studium der Theologie in Tubingen, Gottingen, Berlin und Zurich. Ab 1971 Professor fur Neues Testament und Hermeneutik in Marburg, lebt heute als Emeritus in Marburg.
