Jens Kersten discusses the cloning of human beings for reproductive, therapeutic, scientific and diagnostic purposes against the background of national, European and international bans on cloning. He argues in favor of making responsible provisions for the existence of future human beings, whose dignity, integrity and equality is at risk as a result of cloning. On this basis, he concludes that even the cloning of totipotent human cells should be prohibited and suggests regulations for the ban of cloning on a national, European and international level. Jens Kersten diskutiert das Klonen von Menschen zu reproduktiven, therapeutischen, wissenschaftlichen und diagnostischen Zwecken vor dem Hintergrund der nationalen, europaischen und volkerrechtlichen Klonverbote. Damit nimmt er eine der zentralen bioethischen Fragestellungen auf, die auf nationaler, europaischer und internationaler Ebene aktuell diskutiert werden. Der Autor pladiert fur eine verantwortungsvolle Daseinsvorsorge fur kunftige Menschen, deren Wurde, Integritat und Gleichheit sich durch das Klonen in Frage gestellt sieht. Auf dieser Grundlage kommt er zu dem Ergebnis, dass bereits das Klonen totipotenter menschlicher Zellen untersagt werden sollte, und unterbreitet entsprechende Regelungsvorschlage fur ein Verbot des Klonens auf nationaler, europaischer und internationaler Ebene.
