German description: Johannes Oekolampad (1482-1531) ist bekannt als der Reformator Basels. Seine Schriften sind, bis auf wenige und marginale Ausnahmen, seit der Drucklegung im 16. Jh. nicht wieder herausgegeben worden. Mit dieser Veroffentlichung liegt die erste moderne Edition bedeutender Schriften Oekolampads vor, namlich seiner wichtigsten Schriften uber das rechte Verstandnis des Abendmahls. Oekolampad war damit einer der Initiatoren des ersten innerreformatorischen Abendmahlsstreits. Da er die Realprasenz von Christi Leib und Blut bestritt, nahm er eine gemeinsame Stellung mit Zwingli gegen Johannes Brenz und Martin Luther ein. Die Edition enthalt zwei lateinische und drei deutsche Schriften, in denen sich der Gang der Kontroverse nachvollziehen lasst. Ediert werden zwei lateinische Schriften: De genuina Verborum Domini, Hoc est corpus meum, iuxta vetustissimos authores expositione liber; Ad ecclesiastas Suevos Antisyngramma) und drei deutsche sowie drei deutsche Schriften: Billiche antwurt Joan. Ecolampadij, auff D. His writings have – except some few and marginal cases – not been edited since the prints of the 16th century. With this publication the first modern edition of essential writings of Oekolampad has come to existence: his most important writings on the right understandig of the eucharist. Oekolampad has, publishing them, been on of the initiators of the first controversy on the eucharist among the reformers. Rejecting the real presence of Christ’s body and blood he took a position together with Zwingli against Johannes Brenz and Martin Luther. This edition comprehends two Latin and three German writings, by which this controversy can be retraced.
