At Advent and Christmas many people are longing for the “other” beyond everyday life. The calendar “The Other Advent” is a companion in this search for the “other” during the times of Advent and Christmas – with steadily growing success. What makes the calendar so attractive? What role do religious contents play in the context of its reception and of modern Christian Christmas religiosity as a whole? These questions are addressed by the study. The empirical results enable to take newly into account late modern Christian religiosity particularily in the majority churches and even beyond Advent and Christmas season.
