Review - French Ce que montre l'histoire de la theorie de l'article, c'est la richesse de l'operation de determination a laquelle il participe. De 1618 a 1845, l'article se transforme. Initialement decrit comme un marqueur de cas sur le modele latin, il devient, sur un plan logico-philosophique, l'outil fondamental de la construction des idees. Cet ouvrage montre qu'en melant la theorie philosophique a la description grammaticale, la grammaire generale construit la categorie du determinant. L'article devient ainsi un determinant parmi d'autres, pierre angulaire de l'operation de determination.
