Apu Taytayku – so bezeichnen die Quechuas der Andenregion Sudamerikas Jesus Christus. Diese Formel nimmt sowohl die christliche Tradition als auch die vor-koloniale indigene Weisheit auf und verbindet beide in einer Art “doppelter Treue”: zur eigenen Kultur sowie zum Evangelium. Josef Estermann zeichnet diese zwiespaltige Beziehung von christlicher Religion und indigenen Kulturen seit der Kolonialisierung von Abya Yala (Lateinamerika) nach und skizziert vor dem Hintergrund einer genuin andinen Philosophie die Herausforderungen fur eine indigene andine Theologie. Estermann fuhrt die lateinamerikanische Befreiungstheologie kreativ weiter, indem er sich der Frage nach der Moglichkeit einer interkulturellen Dekonstruktion und Entkolonialisierung einer in abendlandischer Rationalitat verfassten christlichen Theologie stellt und diese ausarbeitet.
